We are all aware of the existence of the preform mould; we may have even used or seen one in our lives at some point. Some of those moulds that were once used by craftsman in making glass are now fine works of art, like the moulds created by carpenters in the old days. The arrival of the modern polymers molded plastic molding materials took this ancient art and made it a science.

One of the most important things to understand about how to make a preform mould is that you must determine the right temperature when shaping it. The right temperature depends on the type of material that you will be using. When you are about to heat up the PET preform mould, it is always best to keep in mind that it must reach its critical point of heating at precisely the right temperature. It must reach this critical point without losing the properties that are inside the mould, or else, you will not be able to form the mould again - the original shape will have been destroyed.

After the PET preform is heated up, it's time to cool it down, which is done by pulling the mould apart piece by piece, until you can get to the critical point where it will be cooled down completely. The next step is cooling down the wall thickness, because the thicker the wall thickness is the faster the cooling process will take place. Once the temperature of the preform mould has been reached, it is time to pull the mould apart again, so that you can look inside. As you can see, there are many different ways to shape the preform mould, but the only thing that matters is that the correct temperature is met. You must also remember that once the PET preform has cooled down completely, it should be allowed to dry completely, before you are ready to use it. That way, you can be sure that your mould will work exactly the way it was designed to, and that you will be able to use it for many years to come.

When the preform mould is ready to be used, there are a few things that need to be checked first. The first thing is to ensure that the temperature control has been set correctly. The temperature control should be checked to ensure that all the moving parts have been lubricated, as well as checking to make sure that the gate is properly aligned, and the temperature control valve is functioning correctly.

The next thing that is important is to check the preform neck, to ensure that it is not sticking out at odd angles, so that the preform is not going to come off in your hand. The preform neck is the part of the preform that catches the melted plastic when the mould is being melted, and if it sticks out at an angle, then this could cause damage to the pet mould. Once everything is checked, then it is time to put the heating element into the mould. Start at the bottom and work your way up, ensuring that the preform has been thoroughly preheated.

Once you have all the pieces lined up correctly, and the heating element is on, then you are ready to pour the melted chocolate into each cavity, one at a time. As the chocolate melts, it will adhere to the preform perfectly, and once it is fully melted, you are ready to pour it out onto a precast tray. You will need to stand at the side of the tray, with the back of your hand, until the chocolate is ready to pour into the preform neck. This may take a few minutes, but if done correctly, it will look absolutely perfect.
